About Us

Garnet House Drapes is a Norfolk based Soft furnishings company. We design, craft and install bespoke soft furnishings including curtains, blinds, cushions and accessories.

We offer an extensive range of fabrics and curtain poles, in addition to the creation of beautiful, hand-made soft furnishings. Julie originally trained at the Hertfordshire School of Soft Furnishing about 20 years ago, and more recently, at the National Design Academy with the intention of helping you achieve the style and comfort you're looking for in your home.

We source fabrics from an extensive list of suppliers and fabric designers, from contemporary to country, from modern, to the traditional look and feel that so many owners of older homes seek, particularly in the historic towns and villages of East Anglia.

Don’t feel that you can only talk to us about fabrics and pleats and piping – We're happy to advise on paint schemes or to supply you with hard to find material, hardware or trims for your DIY efforts. We can also direct you to helpful craftsmen in all associated aspects of home furnishing – things like re-upholstery, decoration and bespoke woodworking - It’s all part of giving you the room, or the home, you desire.

Julie was inspired to open a creative business by the remarkable skills and craftsmanship of her late brother, Rob. As a designer of interior schemes and structures he received a great deal of praise, including a medal from the Queen for his contribution to the restoration of Windsor Castle, and he left a body of beautiful work, including the wonderful oak fan vault in the Millennium Tower of Bury St Edmunds Cathedral, and the award winning Vortex in the Bloomberg building in London. After realising that you only get one chance to make a difference, Julie decided to leave the world of sales and marketing behind to follow a new path, creating things that make people happy.
